Bill and I were friends all the way through high school. We played football together and I have him to thank for blocking my leg out from under me and putting me in a leg cast for three months during our Senior year. After we graduated, we both went our separate ways and even though our path crossed a few times we lost contact over the years. I was able to reach out to him four years ago, thanks to our class coordinater. He was living on the East Coast and he was having some heart problems at the time. Like he said over the phone, I've got one foot in the grave and one on a bannana peel. I guess he finally slipped on that peel. Sorry to hear he passed away.
