Bonnie Vaughn (Merriman)

Johnny and I were bonded from birth. His mom, Vonnie, drove my mom to the hospital to deliver me and 1 month later, Johnny was born. We lived across the street from one another. He was my first friend and "brother". I have pictures of us together from infancy to cowboy/cowgirl pics to the formal we attended as a "date". The last picture of us was at the class reunion a few years before his death. I remember when I returned from a month long vacation in Hawaii in 1959. He ran out of his house to hug me and his grandma said, "Johnny, why don't you give Bonnie a kiss?" Johnny said, "Oh Grandma, kissing Bonnie would be like kissing you!"

I also remember he loved to rearrange our living room with my mom's permission. None of us in the family were surprised when he became a decorator for Brueners.  We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning together as families in our combined childhood for years. Just thinking of him makes me smile......

John, my  sweet friend.  We had a lot of fun times with you me and Dottie and Sara.  You were such a cut up.  We miss you!  God Bless.

All the girls wanted to dance with John at the dances. He was the best dancer and the most fun.
